I interned at the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D) in Cape Town, South Africa. Discoveries from Professor Kelly Chibale’s academic group fueled the development of promising drug candidates in the treatment of malaria and tuberculosis, hence the founding of H3D. Since then, several drug candidates have been pushed to clinical trials or are currently in the development pipeline. I was fortunate to work on a few of these drug candidates during my time at H3D.
