Sheridan Carroll

Sheridan earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA in 2015. She is a PhD student in Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda's lab.

Research Interests

Immunotherapy, biomaterials, glioblastoma

Immunotherapy as a cancer treatment strategy has shown promise in manipulating the host immune system to perform anti-tumor functions. However, additional struggles exist in glioblastoma that diminishes immune cell infiltration and function in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Our strategy involves engineering biomaterials that reduce physiological barriers for intratumoral CAR T cell migration and modulate immune cell phenotype to produce a more effective anti-tumor immune response.
