Jeffrey Hubbell obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering at Kansas State University in 1982 and his doctorate in chemical engineering at Rice University in 1986. He was assistant and associate professor of chemical engineering at the University of Texas, Austin, from 1986 - 1994, and professor of chemical engineering at the California Institute of Technology from 1995 - 1997. Jeffrey A. Hubbell has been full Professor of Biomedical Engineering and director of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering of the ETH and the University of Zurich, Professor of Materials Science since 1 June 1997 and an ETH professor of Material Science and a University professor at the Medical Faculty.
